We provide a unique, specialised service, offering fast access to pain-relieving injections. No GP referral is needed, you can easily self-refer into our clinic. We pride ourselves on wanting to help you get the most out of your injection and maximise your outcome. During your consultation, we take time to address other factors that may be having an influence on your symptoms. Not only will this leave you feeling fully supported but it can also make a huge difference to your symptom management.

Why have a steroid injection?

A steroid injection may be given to help ease pain and swelling by reducing the inflammation involved with conditions such as bursitis or arthritis and other problems. Local anaesthetic is often also usually administered. The steroid is not a cure and only acts for a limited period but if it settles your pain and swelling it may provide an opportunity for you to normalise movement and undergo further rehabilitation, if necessary. It is common to need to supplement your injection with your usual painkillers, however NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs (such as ibuprofen, diclofenac, or naproxen) can increase yourstomach acid levels when combined with the injection. It is safe to continue with these so long as youare not experiencing any stomach pain, indigestion, or heartburn, in which case the non-steroidalmedication should be stopped. Any concerns regarding this please consult your GP for further advice.
